NEIGHBORS IN ACTION - MONDAY JUNE 30, 2025 The following classified photos were leaked by an anonymous individual on Friday, June 27. They allegedly show a small group of Coryell islanders intentionally sinking John Walker's boat at his mainland dock while he was out of town. It is especially disturbing to see two members of the group bouncing on the bow to speed the process, while laughing heartily. All of this in broad daylight and with an aire of total impunity. BUT WAIT!!!! Upon further investigation, it has been found that the above story is just another conspiracy theory fomented by a disgruntled individual intent on undermining any outbreaks of neighborly behavior. Actually the group saw John's boat already under water, following the fierce storm in the area on Thursday night, and decided it was their duty to jump in (literally) and help out their absent neighbor. After an hour and a half of bailing, they had the boat floating and dry again. The two neighbors on the bow managed to get the stern above water just enough for bailing to be effective, despite their diminutive size.
Meanwhile, a short time before the rescue operation, two other island neighbors had seen the sunken boat and told John's next door neighbor, who they knew was in contact with him. The next door neighbor was just preparing to go to the mainland to bail out the previous night's rain without knowing that it had sunk. With the new information that the boat was under water, he went to assess the damage, and when he got there, miraculously, the boat was afloat at the dock just as John had left it. He looked around for any signs of a sunken boat, and puzzled by the whole scene began questioning whether he or his neighbors, who had reported the sinking, were subject to some strange form of hallucination. He contacted a local salvage operator, and together they determined that the motor had indeed been completely under water, but were totally bewildered by how the boat could be floating and so dry again. They managed to get the boat's trailer from Cedarville Marine and delivered it for diagnosis. Unbelievably, the motor is running again. Only later did we learn that it did not miraculously float by itself, but was rescued by the generous actions of good neighbors. Thanks to all for reinforcing what neighborliness looks like.
